With rumored reports of Creighton, Butler and Xavier joining the Catholic 7, and with Butler already gone from the Horizon League, which team or teams should the Horizon League invite?
In order to keep a good mix of public and private schools, my choices would be: 1. Murray State-OVC; consistently good program which would be a good fit for the HL. 2. Belmont-OVC; upstart program that's had recent success. Although in Nashville, still within the HL footprint. Remember Oral Roberts was a member for years of the MCC/HL out of Tulsa. 3. Evansville-MVC; former MCC/HL member that's been out of their league for years. Can't match the spending nor competition of the other MVC teams. Like them better than Oakland.
Other possible candidates: Oakland-Summit; Travel partner for Detroit. Seems to have had their 15 min. of fame. Not guaranteed to get it back. South Dakota State- Summit; Good, upcoming program which went Dancing last year and poised to go again. Rabid fans and excellent hoops facility. Drawback is eventually may want to upgrade football, so they may be looking at MAC.
